Steve Jobs, RIP

Sadly, Steve Jobs, innovator, entrepreneur and co-founder of one of the world’s most successful and admired companies, has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 56.

Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976, but resigned in 1985 following a boardroom power struggle. Before Jobs’ return to Apple in 1996, the company was worth approximately $4 billion. Today, it is estimated to be worth over $380 billion.

Although best known for inventing stylish and innovative products such as the iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad, Apple was not the only string to Jobs’ bow. He bought Pixar in 1986 and remained the CEO and major shareholder until it was bought by Disney in 2006.

Undoubtedly one of the most creative and forward-thinking entrepreneurs of our time, Jobs will be remembered as a trendsetter and a visionary.

There’s an old Wayne Gretzky quote that I love. ‘I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.’ And we’ve always tried to do that at Apple. Since the very beginning. And we always will”. - Steven Paul Jobs, 24 February 1955 - 5 October 2011
